Tuition & Fees

Registration fees

Annual fee of $45 (includes T-shirt for students that enroll in August)

Costume fees

Costume fees of $50 are due twice a year, in October and March. These fees help us purchase, clean, and maintain our beautiful costumes. HDT has a rich history of costumes that have been passed down throughout the generations, as well as new purchases and original creations!

In spring, when new costumes are often ordered for individual dancers,  any costume balance will be billed after deducting the deposit.

Tuition

Huntington Dance Theatre accepts tuition by direct pay through Jackrabbit (Parent Portal), checks to HDT, or cash (exact amounts only please). Tuition can be paid in 9 monthly installments (August – May), by the semester, or by the year.

Billing is completed on the 25th of each month and statements will be emailed to the address on file. Monthly tuition is due by the 1st of each month. If using the Parent Portal, families can set up their card to be auto-drafted each month on the 1st. A 5% discount will be applied to students who pay for the entire year at the time of registration.

Scholarships

As a nonprofit dance school and student ballet company, nearly 25% of our current student dance on full and partial scholarships. We rely on generous donors to help us fund these scholarships so that we can ensure that everyone has the chance to dance. If you are interested in helping fund a full or partial scholarship, please call us at 304-522-4230 or email us at huntingtondance1981@gmail.com for more details. Your generous sponsorships are vital to providing the highest quality dance education for all of our students.

Our newest scholarship, the Jamez Morris-Smith Scholarships, has been established to honor Jamez Morris-Smith of Marshall University, a lifelong dancer and supporter of HDT. Jamez was the creative mind behind the creation of our Huntington Nutcracker sets and production, in addition to the mastermind behind the lighting of every HDT show. This dance scholarship will be awarded to one Marshall University student yearly and cover all instructional and costume fees for a full academic year at HDT, with priority given to male students. If you are interested in helping fund this scholarship in honor of Jamez, you can donate via PayPal or write a check to Huntington Dance Theatre and please list the Jamez Morris-Smith Scholarship Fund in the memo line.
