Intermediates

Intermediate level classes at Huntington Dance Theatre are designed for students in the upper primary grades. Classes have no prerequisite and guide students in learning the elements of dance, including mastering a variety of body and movement skills such as coordination, articulation, and cooperation with other dancers as well as introducing barre into class. Students will be asked to respond to differences in tempo and rhythm, remember dance sequences from memory, and dance with concentration and focus in class and on stage.

  • Available classes include ballet, jazz, hip hop, and a musical theatre & tap combo and meet on weeknights.
  • Students will either wear light blue leotards and pink/fleshtone tights and ballet slippers or white tops and black leggings/dance shorts.
  • Two performance opportunities: The Huntington Nutcracker and the Spring Recital.
