College and Adult Classes

Marshall University and Adult Students

There are a variety of available classes at Huntington Dance Theatre for Marshall University and visiting college students as well as adults continuing their dance studies. 

  • Available classes include beginning yoga, ballet technique, musical theatre/jazz, community tap, contemporary, choreography, conditioning, hip hop, and beginning adult ballet and meet on weeknights. 
  • Sunday Open Ballet is available at 12:30-1:30pm throughout the semester on select Sundays.
  • Students can wear any color leotard and pink or skintone tights, appropriate fitted workout clothing, or white tops and black leggings/dance shorts. Check with class instructors for shoe requirements.  
  • At least two performance opportunities if students are interested: The Huntington Nutcracker and the Spring Recital.

Our inclusive dance curriculum is based on the published and adopted standards of the National Dance Education Organization. Ballet classes are also supplemented by the American Ballet Theatre curriculum.
